Hey Reader,
You know, it's times like this that I sometimes miss writing my old Thursday Three series of newsletters. You can take the girl out of the entertainment industry, but you cannot take the love of entertainment out of this girl. š¤
My latest series obsession? The Last of Us on HBO. #hotdiggitydog This series is amazing.
I used to know people who were on the creative teams that built the original video game, so I knew enough about it, and because I'm not a gamer, I thought, "Meh... another apocalypse universe. I think I'll watch a comedy, thankyouverymuch."
Then I heard about the feature film falling apart in development (byyyye š) but finally picked up with HBO treatment... and I thought, "That show has already got baggage." #pass š āāļø
After unsuccessfully tuning out the hype I caved and got on the bandwagon... 4 weeks late.
And then episode 3. š³ļøāš The Ballad of Bill and Frank. As if the first 30 minutes of the first episode hadn't already brought me to my knees. š© Y'all. I am NOT a Kleenex user. I do not get weepy at movies.
But this story. š«„ Guts š me š every š f*in š episode.
So you know what I'm thinking... š« It's a business journey analogy!!!! š
I promise I won't ruin this for you. Without spoiling anything, here's the big nugget:
It's a story about retaining humanity in the midst of total destruction. The world everyone knows is gone. And do you know what I've been talking about lately with other business leaders?
ā”ļø There is a very noticeable shift happening in our online business economy. No one has answers. It's not the apocalypse (puh-leeze, please don't take this literally š) but it's like the early days of any pandemic.
You can tell something is not quite right, but we don't know what is really happening or what the shift is showing us in terms of patterns... yet. We just know the way people are consuming content and choosing their purchases is *very* not-what-it-used-to-be. Some of it is surprisingly pleasant but the expected behavior of tried-and-true methods is tanking.
And in order to come out the other side alive... to preserve the very precious nature of your gift for helping your customers, you need an expert guide. So, am I thinking coaches like myself are the equivalent of Joel & Tess as smugglers? LOL maybe. š
But mostly, it's about the need for expert guides, now more than ever. It's the need for trust, knowing that you'll be protected and we're all in this together. Your guides don't know the answers about the meaning of life, but they do know the safest paths and know how to protect you. #strengthinnumbers
There are a plethora of zaddy & daddy memes flying around about Pedro Pascal and if it helps to think of Sensible Woo as your business mommy... I'm here for you, boo. š§āāļø
Super grateful I'm on a gluten free diet these days... š¬

tip of the week
Fair warning: This week's video is a one hour masterclass. š¤ Remember that community survey from a few months ago? Well... this week I've broken down and picked apart how it was used, why it was used, and the strategic decisions I made based on your feedback from that survey.
I say it in this video and I'll say it again here: Surveys are just ONE measurement that you use in making decisions for your business. They are very imperfect because they are (1) passive experiences and (2) typcially have the lowest rate of response when researching your audience.
However! It's Librarian Hour and I'm here to show you how to really maximize this tool because it's pretty nifty when you use it in the right context.
Here's what I am inviting you to take action on this week:
- Watch the video and leave me a comment about what you'd like to learn from your own community this year. Maybe you even have some recent survey data of your own... how did this help you analyze that better?
- āSubscribe to my channel so you don't miss more of this... bonus points for sharing with friends. š

attention worthy
Our month-long bundled mastermind is well under way (you can still hop in if you'd like... see the offering section, below) and this 1-on-1 discussion with Megan Graves (her session on ADHD for Entrepreneurs is on February 27) was so full of replies, comments, and feedback, I clipped it out so you can ponder on this for the week. This is not the actual discussion, but you can get the whole thing inside the main container.
This concept of retaining the humanity in your business through thoughtful application of automation & delegation is a major ethos at Sensible Woo. It builds a really beautiful bridge into the Incubator, which you can get a sneak peek at right here... š
