Hey Reader,

I want to draw your attention this week to the Offerings section (scroll down... it's right before your weekly readings). It's really important to me that the Incubator alumni get some fanfare. Some of them provided words and context to their experiences and they are really amazing peeps. ๐Ÿ’• I hope their stories give you the inspirational boost you need this week!

But if you really want to know what has been tugging at my easily distracted attention span... it's the Congressional hearings with TikTok this week. Listen, I have a lot of thoughts about TikTok. ๐Ÿ˜‚ But the glaring theme out of the discourse this week was how much most of the world pretends like they understand how tech works... but they really do not.

I'm a big fan of The Verge for tech reviews & commentary... they had some great pieces that you can start by diving into here.

But mostly, I appreciate Mr. Kitters for enlightening us on what everyone needed to focus on. ๐Ÿ˜น Cats + the Internet = a match made in heaven.

If you've been following this social media news this week, I hope it's abundantly clear how important it is as a business owner that you have confidence and support throughout your year. Your marketing is very much intertwined with the political landscape of the day and being able to pivot, be light on your feet (so-to-speak), and respond to your audience accordingly requires you to have a firm footing in your business systems.

You cannot sustain being a hot dumpster fire in your operations and expect to stay cool & collected when other marketing systems are under fire.

Firstly, we don't want to sound like some of these elected representatives -- while they do ask a few valid questions, they are so tech-illiterate they cannot articulate the question and ended up losing any authority over the situation, which means they didn't get any closer to answers or resolution of the problems. On a small business level... My goal is to help you avoid this scenario.

But also, it highlights how having strong operational systems means you can bypass dependency on something like the fate of TikTok.

Real business โ‰  social algorithms.

Real business comes from relationships and being able to deliver excellent services to those relationships in ways that are elegant and full of suprise & delight.

THAT is what systems are for your business.

Pass the popcorn... may The Force be with you, TikTok,

tip of the week

This week I have a guided meditation for you! One of the things that really helps with making big decisions, like joining the Incubator, is to regulate your nervous system.

Are you fully embodied in your decision making process? Can you hear your inner guidance and feel trust with it?

You might discover that it's hard to go deeply into the meditation and if that describes your experience, just know it's pretty normal.

You might discover that it's easy to go deeply into the meditation and if that describes your experience, then consider all of your options for support in 2023, whether that's the Incubator or not. How do you *really* feel about those options?

Remember that you can go back to the meditation any time and use it whenever you need some grounding & connection to your business. Some people like to form a ritual around this with a weekly or monthly or quarterly practice. Or... if you're like me... a more organic approach. When you feel the need, use the audio. ๐Ÿค“

Here's what I am inviting you to take action on this week:

  1. Watch the video and leave me a comment about your own experiences. Did you have any aha moments and do you think you'll make choices differently this year based on how the meditation made you feel?
  2. โ€‹Subscribe to my channel so you don't miss more of this... bonus points for sharing with friends. ๐Ÿ’•

attention worthy

In our final couple weeks, as we push to the end of the Incubator's annual enrollment period, I wanted to remind you of the ways you can learn from my program development as a business owner.

I hear from people how much they want to create programs like this and I will be honest with you, it's not for the faint of heart. It's a lot of work and it requires iteration across long periods of time. You'll definitely need patience & persistence!

But one thing that helps the most in entrepreneurial development is being able to truly see what happens behind the scenes. This year I tried to stack up as much of this as possible and here are the ways you can use my example as evidence for your own ideas and visions to come to life:

  • You can hear the entire process of growing this offer and bringing it into a new era on The Online Presence Podcast with Danielle Klemm.
  • And now you can hear the connection of the process with the work we do at Sensible Woo in part two on The Online Presence Podcast.
  • You can also listen to the audio version of the sales page, which is a very new format that I'm trying and I'm curious to know if hearing the story & journey was helpful for you. Hit 'reply' and let me know!
  • You can see how I used the 2022 community survey to help me update all of my messaging for this year's launch.

offerings

Last week I introduced you to some of our Incubator alumni... and I'm keeping them in this week's broadcast because I think it's important you really SEE some of who have come through this special space together.

They're pretty impressive individuals and I have been absolutely honored to work with them. This year a few of them agreed to let me highlight their experiences. If you've wondered what it's like to be in the Incubator, this week is the perfect time to consider how it would feel for you, too.
