It's been a hard week. My furry best friend was put to rest on Friday, September 13th, and I've been bouncing back from the very quick decline of my animal familiar. Some of you have been with me on this list since I had a blog about sewing clothes and you know just how long Mr. Giles had been a fixture in my life & brand. It's going to be a while before I'm not navigating so much sadness and grief and this week's reading (scroll down to watch it) is inspired by him and dedicated to him. He left me with some beautiful parting lessons, some of which will remain private and personal, but I hope that you enjoy this week's readings because they are so healing and we could all use a little warmth and softness in the world right now.

One of the things that has brought me lots of joy over the last couple of weeks is my adamant abstinence from business books and a focus on fiction reading instead. Specifically, smutty romance fantasy. Is it the trendy thing these days? Sure. Does that make it kind of cheesy? Also yes. #noshame🌶️

I *know* that y'all are feeling some feelings right now. It's not just me. I also know that business books are only repeating the pressures that you honestly don't need, like, ever. And I don't see non-fiction helping readers connect with their inner knowing as well as fiction right now. Do I think this will last? No. But I do think the times we are living in and the economic shifts that are impacting our businesses have created the perfect set-up for a brain break. 🧠 If you feel like your brain needs a vacation, then this week's replay video is for you!

Lesson #1: Stop being so literal.

I used to have the name "Literal Girl" when I lived in Los Angeles, so believe me when I say I have spend a couple of decades unhooking from this common problem. Do you need to read these romance books to get the same benefit? No.

But... will these questions help you break through to your true business solutions? I believe YES with the power of five chili peppers. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
